Welcome to our Christian Perspective Blog! It is important to note that SCRSOL is not, by intent, a Christian organization and people of all faiths are welcome and encouraged. But because, according to research organizations like Gallup and Pew Research, 80% or more of South Carolina’s population identifies with the Christian faith, we believe that it is appropriate and even important to examine the topic of sex offender registries in the light of biblical teaching. More directly, we feel that the very concept of the registry is troubling in the light of that teaching. Further, many of the behaviors that result from existence of the registry are directly opposed to the teaching of Jesus and the apostles.
